The footwear industry joined together at Bryant Park Grill on June 7th to kick-start the Two Ten Cancer Care Fund.
The stellar turnout and support of this event by the industry enables FFANY to donate $50,000 to Two Ten to provide assistance to individuals in the footwear industry in need of cancer care.
The industry also met the next generation of design talent, as the student winners of the Joseph C. Moore scholarship award to attend the ARSUTORIA school in Milan, Italy were presented.
Chelsea Fu of Parsons, The New School Design student Chelsea Fu was the place winner and will head to Arsutoria in Milan for a 13-week shoe pattern making and prototyping course valued at $17,500.
Second and third place winners, Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) student Alice Oggionni and Isabella Bowie of Parsons, were awarded $3,100 each and a five-day Arsutoria course in New York City. All of the winning students were on hand to accept their awards and to network with the attendees.
It was a great evening – the weather was perfect (finally!) and all mingled, kicked back and enjoyed the fantastic music by Current Affair, who created a mini concert, even for park goers outside of the event!
