FFANY believes education has the power to strengthen and transform the footwear industry. Toward that end, we announce Margarita Leano as the winner of the 2018 Joseph C. Moore Scholarship to attend the prestigious ARSUTORIA School in Italy. A graduating senior at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), Margarita is heading to Milan for 13 weeks where he will learn shoe pattern making and prototyping – an award valued at $17,500!
Congratulations also to 2nd place winner Vivian Sredni, another student from the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) and this year’s two (tied) 3rd place winners Da Hye Lim of The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and Michael Zhang of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). They all have won a 5-day ARSUTORIA “Art of Shoemaking” course in NYC and E-learning training, valued at $3,100.
A very special thank you to the renowned judging committee and their generous donation of expertise and time:
“The Joseph C. Moore Footwear Scholarship is a remarkable way FFANY supports and helps to shape the future members of the footwear industry,” said Keith Brown, President Private Label Brands at Camuto Group. “I am proud to be on the judging committee and look forward to continuing to support this education effort.”
The winners along with their faculty will be recognized at the June 5th industry event at Brasserie 8 1/2.
